Hi, I'm Andrew

I was an actor/director/writer. I now program for a living, but I also write and play music.

What I program in

• Mostly Ruby, with a dabbling of Node.js, Golang, and R.

• Frameworks include:

  • Rails
  • Sinatra
  • Grape

  I’ve done some work in Angular 1.x and React.js as well, but I’ve mostly focused on building backend systems for the majority of my career.

What I have experience in

• Enterprise Integration Patterns - I’ve built several public and private facing APIs for a multitude of clients and internal services

• AWS Services, including but not limited to:

  • S3
  • DynamoDB
  • RDS: PostgreSQL
  • Cloudfront
  • Lambdas
  • EventBridge

• Sumo Logic

Things I’m interested in

• Distributed Systems within cloud architectures
• Continuous improvement, whether through delving back into old concepts or learning something new

Hobbies

• Actor/Director/Writer. I’ve worked with companies such as Chicago Dramatists, Neo-Futurists, and other Chicago storefront theatres.
• I play guitar. Poorly, but I enjoy doing so. I also very much enjoy karaoke.
